A Friend's Wedding

A brief introduction of the protagonist, written on 19 Sept 2009 on Orkut:

█ █ █ █ █ █ █ loading █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ my roommate for four years. Some comments from my friends nobody else can't like with me without getting frustrated the way he did. I personally feel we understand each other better then other roomies. he is cool man the way we live with 1 key for four yrs.(each time i lost the key least 3 times)

Now getting to the point he loves cartoons (justice League), animations series a big fan of Harry Potter. Sometimes i feel he wants this world to be full of magic even if he has to be batman of justice league.

After a year long of search of bride and after several rejection moment came when he unable say No. He asked for another meeting and after that he again was not able to say No. Then parents fixed the Roka (engagement) 12 Dec 2012. Aur humare Hero ko kuch samajh nahi aa raha tha kya ho raha hai and at the time ho Roka, a shivering feeling with legs shaking college main ek moment nahi aaya hoga jab isko tenion hue ho(jo todi bhi compare ki ja sake), a big decision of his life.

And the wedding date is fixed 12 Feb 2013.

So, we people booked our tickets. A half planned journey to Sultanpur.

Kumbh mela chal raha tha Varanasi jaane main watt lag gayi thi but a Ganga Boat Ride, Ganga main dubki, Ganga Aarti and Banaras Paan (Itr ke saath) its totally worth the effort :).

Train journeys are always good as it give time to people to catch up with old friends and our topic of discussion was Shaadi and Job (I did a negotiation at that time) and game of the hour is Subway Surfer. A laptop, an ipad and pack of cards full of fun. Enjoyed movie “Luv Shuv te Chicken Khurana” and it had its own impacts :).

4 friends each one troubled with the leaves for the marriage but everyone’s’ reaction “Wapis aa kar dekh lenge”. Aur 2 dost Delhi se aa rahe the.

 Some of us have some targets in mind like

• Duhle ka interview (shaadi se pehle)
• Naadi main dubki
• Shaadi main jum ke naachna
• Paayra sa shaadi ka gift ;)

Jhansi Fort (with murder holes)

Our 1st tourist spot was Jhansi – a place popular for its queen and her bravery. A fort symbol of war, treason and skill of British to rule. A fort with murder holes (to drop hot oil and water). Fort with Deewane Aam and Deewane Khaas . Later converted to water Tank by British. An indication that British ruled us from outside.

A comparison of Karnataka and UP was obvious and UP is far behind trust me. Enjoyed north Indian food and Hindi all over the place.

Finally reached our destination around 0400  on 11 Feb 2013. Aur Dhule raja ne 4-5 try ke baad phone uthaya, bina baat kiye rakh diya :). Fir chupke se ghar main ghuse jaise koi Ladka Shraab pee kar late se ghar aaya ho. Todi baaten ki aur Soo gaye.

Kuch ghante baad dujheraja hum logon ko guest house chodne gaye Aur jaane se pehle Shirt change ki. Dulhe ne humne sultanpur ki galiyaan ghumaee aur yeh sawal aa hi gaya “Bahut tension lag rahe ho, bahut chup chup ho.! Kya baat”

Fir hum log nikal gaye Varanasi ke liye the road form sultanpur to varansai is full of history of small kings and their living styles. Varansai full of people(all lauguages) and foreigners. A different atmosphere, some people with deep faith and others with amusement.

12 Feb 2013 ko wapis sultanpur aur subah Dilli wale aa gaye. Then the D-Day begin. Breakfast served by Dulheraja. The game of Aoe discussed, the college discussed and how life of dulle raja changed after engagement. These moments are captured in a small interview ;).

Breakfast se lunch tak interview chala fir hum hogon ne dulhe ko chod diya. Back to our gift planning, calculation and packing :).

I tried a different look using imagination of a friend. Finally got it refined from a roadside barber shop and that guy is more enthused, refining the look. The look cost me Rs 15/- and a small effort.

Pandit ji ka comment on my looks “Sanjay Dutt ke dost ho!”

So its time for the barat. Dulha betha hua hai ek badi si baggi main, a very comfortable one and he is still texting. Enjoyed the dance and the DJ cum Singer jo beech main desh bhakti ke gaane lag jata tha. Barat ke destination tak pahunchte hi dulhe ko ladki walo ke hawale kar diya gaya :).

Friends, Gift and Photo Session

Ladke ko 7 vachan manne hote hai aur Ladki ko 4.

Ladke ke vachan Paise(money) aur woh sab kaam Bata Kar karega se link hote hai. Ladki ke vacahan kehte ki woh ladke ki Saari Baat Maanegi.

Pandit ji jaise hi vachan bolte ladka, at very instant “Manjoor hai”

A Thought: Barat aayi ladke ke Seher main. Shaadi ke baad dono rahenge Ladki ke ghar ke pass. Fir bhi vidaai ladki ki hi hogi. Aur rona to ladkiyon ka gahna hota hai.
